CYPRUS
ELEFTHERIA SQUARE
BETOcare UK were asked by Zaha Hadid Architects to review the surface cracking present on the exposed white concrete columns at the Eleftheria Square project in Nicosia, Cyprus.
We sent our head technician to Cyprus to review the project, undertake samples and produce a full report outlining the areas requiring repair. Following consultation with the project engineers, BETOcare UK developed a treatment protocol which involved first resin injecting all the cracks prior to undertaking a cosmetic concrete repair to the surface of the columns to reinstate the original architectural concrete intent.
A programme of works was developed by our team to repair the 13 architectural concrete columns and the works were completed over three visits, each lasting 3-weeks.
